2013 – “Il Popolo vuole”
Personal exhibition of Ali Hassoun, “Il Popolo vuole“. Foundation Piaggio – Piaggio Museum. Organising Committee the City of Pontedera, under the patronage of the Tuscany region. Exhibition and catalog curated by Luca Beatrice.
“… The painting by Ali Hassoun, an artist from Lebanon well-known worldwide, gives us a very interesting historic and civil afterthought about the human rights. The concept of a common humanity as a call to the universal dignity is of crucial importance in his poetry known as the highest expression of the religious plurality and of the multicultural coexistence. Hassoun has chosen the comparison and the dialogue as the universal way especially needed in the present situation connoted dramatically by wars, violence, abuses … In this environment art becomes an important mean going beyond any ethnic, political and cultural barrier; the exhibition that we are introducing shows this thought, that is a contribution for the dialogue among cultures in a society that changes quickly, therefore an opportunity of cultural and personal afterthought for the young generations and the town …” Avv.
